Brett, I tested the file input function on Jason's iphone earlier today and it was greyed out as well. Did some research and this actually an Apple thing. They do not allow iphone users to upload files via their phone. I'm not sure the reasoning behind it and aside from creating an apple application which would take months there's not a whole lot I can do about it currently. I will keep looking for a reasonable alternative but this is indeed a Appleism. The Boss wrote on 8/10/12
It's because the display of rivalry images are fixed dimension. Meaning the images are displayed in the same ratio throughout the site. The image upload feature is currently designed to center the image vertically and then crop the image to make it fit the dimensions. In the future I can see about making some tweaks but as a rule of thumb, wider images (opposed to taller ones) will always look better. Eventually I'd like to do a image cropping feature that always the user to crop the image to their preferred size but that will take some research and time. The Boss wrote on 8/08/12
If you want me to add your images to the rivalry you can text them over or email them. I went ahead and added some from flickr for now. The Boss wrote on 8/08/12
Iphone or android? I think the problem might be your browser on the phone. If you can, check your browsers settings and see if javascript is enabled. Some mobile browsers disable it by default. This could explain why you could upload to your profile but not to rivalries. I believe the profile upload doesn't use javascript. The Boss wrote on 8/08/12
Just reread your comment. It won't let you click on it. Let me know what kind of computer and browser your using so I can do some testing. Thanks Brett! The Boss wrote on 8/08/12
That's odd. When you click on the "Choose File" button it should popup windows explorer or something similar on different platforms so you can select a file from your computer. I believe it accepts jpg, gif, and png if I'm not mistaking. Give me a little more detail if you can. Like, do you see the Choose File buttons and what happens when you try and click on them, etc... Also, are you using a pc or mac? Thanks and I'll look into it. The Boss wrote on 8/05/12
Hey Brett it should be visible on the comments listed on your user stat page. It actually requires 501 ego points which you have. Lmk if you see the users who down voted or if you're having problems viewing them and thanks for sending the invites. I'll forward you a copy of what the emails say when I get to the house. At Target in Maryville right now. The Boss wrote on 8/02/12
Take a look at the user stats page. It's not the most glamorous thing currently but you can now view the last ten comments that were down voted. Currently it requires a page refresh but later I'll probably do it with javascript or ajax so a page refresh won't be necessary. The Boss wrote on 8/02/12
I was going to suggest that you can look back through your comments as you did but because others very well may have up voted the same comment may make it impossible to find. The Boss wrote on 8/02/12
Currently you can't but It's something I can look into adding. I'll see what I can do when I get home from work. It may require the creation of additional pages which will take a bit of time but I'll definitely look into it. The Boss wrote on 7/24/12
Forgot to mention, yes you can edit your comments but only because you've earned enough ego points to do so. Only a handful of users have that ability so be proud that you've built your ego over the years! The Boss wrote on 7/24/12
Hey Brett, Don't worry at all about the absence we just as always GREATLY appreciate the support of our friends and family. Here's a breakdown: You can up and down vote rivalry comments. (Can only down vote if you have 125 ego points) This impacts the commentors overall ego and their standing in the Debate Leaders and Debaters of the Week section. You can now inflate and deflate the authority of rivalries. This means you can help determine if a rivalry will be taken off the front page or make it to the top rivalry. I do need to put a help page together to highlight changes and what users can do but for the time being here is a change log I've been adding to. http://www.jealousbrother.com/documents/changelog/ And thank you for participating Brett! Forgot to mention, you can also block and unblock users. cutie122403 wrote on 5/17/09
Hey Brett!! It is so great to see you on here! Have fun and let us know if you have any questions. The Boss wrote on 5/17/09
Hey Brett, Got your shouts. Let me know the size of the images you're trying to upload. May have to slightly reduce the size of the images to get them to upload. If that doesn't fix the problem there is another problem which I'll need to address. Thanks again for signing up! |
