My point of view I'm sure is going to be a bit biased due to the 10 years as a linguist I spent in the Air Force. However, I am a full fledged believer in being able to speak multiple languages. Yes, English is the universal business language. You will have many more business opportunities and career opportunities if you know multiple languages. My family and I currently live in San Antonio and we plan on teaching our daughters Spanish. No reason not to.

aside from what we may need in the future...global warming is a huge issue and its getting worse by the month. I think the government should have started working on this 10 years ago but since bush became the president of the United States, nothing has been done. That was no surprise though. He has only put our country so far in debt it will take decades probably to fix things. The oil in Alaska should not be touched. Every time they go in and start sucking from the earths core..it harms us in ways we cannot even see. There is a reason they will not let them take it. They have already got everything else and no telling what kind of profits they have made off of it. The government is very secretive..theres no telling what they have. We wouldn't know if they had something right now. As long as they can keep getting money from the mass productions of oil ...why would they stop?

you are right on! we had the heart and soul during ww2 to mass produce ships and planes and weaponry in lightning speed. we are not trying to split atoms here, we just need to suck mother earth!
