300!!!!!350!!!!!CLEAR!!!!ZAP!! Just trying to resuscitate any of those that need it. While I am in total disagreement with their policy, and their food (ugh), it is hypocrisy for any city or state to shun a company just because of its personal beliefs. They have every right to free enterprise in this country just as any other company. They label a company intolerant by doing what? Showing intolerance? It's just stupid really. There are other ways to show discontent than this. FACEPALM.

You have no idea whether this law will be effective or not. Neither do I, but I am at least willing to give it a chance. Who knows... ...maybe once the rebates are issued and plans are re-evaluated the two you mentioned might be able to afford better insurance. I don't know. My name is not Nostradamus, and neither is yours. Isn't it at least worth the consideration? I think so.

Big Ben, that's the whole point. No one can tell for certain just yet. Instead of playing the part of Negative Nancy why don't we see if it works before we tear it down? What is the point of removing all of the great features of this law when it will help so many that couldn't get or afford it before? I would rather have this law in effect and not work to be repealed and new legislation considered than to have none at all. Besides, what other choice is there? The only thing that the Republican party had come up with is almost exactly this same law minus the individual mandate, except in Massachussets (where it is currently working). If they had produced a viable alternative then why didn't they try harder to get it passed? I blame both Democrats and Republicans for that, by the way. If both would quit bickering over partisan issues and constantly trying to add earmarks to bills legislation would be passed far more easily and with better resolve.

Well, while we might agree on the above I have to disagree to a point on this matter. Although a militia was something different then, it is not now. The Militia Act of 1792 was only the first of many that allowed our very own founding fathers to establish what they considered to be a true militia and the regulations that they would follow as law. This didn't just happen recently. Our forefathers did so only 5 years after signing the Constitution. The Militia Act of 1903 adopted the state militias into the organization as we now know it to be the National Guard. It became governmental by state and federal funding soon after. I know you may not consider that a "true" militia, but it is what is. I assume you know what I'm referring to as well. We will just have to agree to disagree.

That's not confusing in the least. You are correct. That's exactly what I was saying. What I'm also saying is that though there were many factors in the tragedy, one of which was gun related, that we seriously need to as a society and nation discuss what has become a very serious problem. Even if we agree or disagree, it should be discussed.

oh, and pre- existing conditions will be covered! Oh yeah the will be. Good damn luck paying for the premium though suckers!!!!!!!no disrespect for those with these conditions. I would be grateful if there was a cap from insurance companies to what they can charge in premium. If there is, show me the proof. I bet you will not find it. I am just saying the obamacare is abait and switch. You can promise people anything the want. The question is, will they be able to afford it??

  • big ben - 7/26/12 @ 6:11 PM
Look at the cost of the bronze plan. Look at what some employers are charging families right now for health care. I know two different people. One works for coke and his premium is 550 month just for him and his son. he cannot afford it. Another friend works for gatorade and hers is a little more. She cannot afford to get healthcare. Look at the price of the bronze plan. It is outrageous!. It is the *?##@ plan too. The only people who benefit from this are the people who dont work. Screw this commy care. Heck, I pay my employer for the best plan, which is a 3000 dollar deductible. The insurance companies wrote the bill and they are the ones who are screwing the working class the most. Damn, i need to become a serf and seek the cheese reward.!

There is much confusion with this, and I think that the confusion is used to take advantage of Americans and their understanding. To make it simple, think of every able bodied citizen as the militia. Think of the national gauard and military as organzied government units who pool from the militia which is the whole US able bodied population. I hope this helps.

  • big ben - 7/26/12 @ 6:00 PM
I understand your point about militia. I will clarify that the militia in the constitution is reffering to all able bodied citizens. This is therefore giving the right to bear arms to everyone, not just the citizens who are called up to serve in the militia. The citizens are all part of the militia, they are only activated to that roll when needed. I do want to clarify one misconception. Many people today have been misslead in regards to the national gaurd. This is not the militia, this is a unit adopted by the states in time of calling by the governor. Please do not confuse the national guard with the militia in the constitution. They are totally different and the national gauard was not established until many many years after the constitution. We the people, are the true militia. Thank you
